Original material held in Hull and the East Riding illustrates the wider context of the Beverley Gate incident and tells the story of Sir John Hotham.Discover the two sieges of Hull, why Queen Henrietta Maria visited Bridlington, a propaganda war (seventeenth century style), and the story of how Sir John Hotham became a hero, then a traitor - and ultimately met his fate at the Tower of London.

There is also an extensive programme of support activities and events including talks, films and family activities.
