ICT facilities

The History Centre has a suite of 12 PCs with free internet access and MS Office software located in the Local Studies Library area. To make sure there is a chance for everyone to use them, access is limited to a maximum of 90 minutes per day per person. To use one of these PCs you will need a Hull Library ticket and staff can register you to use the library at the enquiry desk in the History Centre (please bring some proof of address).

Ancestry and Find My Past
Access Ancestry and Find My Past websites free of charge. Hull Libraries pay a subscription fee for these two online services so you don’t have to. To use the computers and access the internet you will need a Hull Library ticket, which will provide you with a User Log-In and password.

The 1939 Register was released on 2nd Nov 2015. Unfortunately, in the first instance this will not be available on the Library edition of FindmyPast and will not therefore be free to use in the History Centre or the libraries in Hull. The normal fees for this record set will be applicable.
