Records of Damage and First Aid Repairs to Individual Properties

Collection Reference: C TAY/AR

Covering Dates: 1940-1945

Description of the Records:
The collection contains printed forms arranged alphabetically by street and then by house number within each street. Forms relating to terraces are arranged alphabetically at the end of the street that the terraces relate to. The forms give details relating to damage sustained to properties as a result specific air raids. They provide information as to date of raids, damage sustained, and whether a property was demolished or rendered uninhabitable as a result of the damage.

Searching the Collection:
You can search the records by street name using the online catalogue. Alternatively you can browse the paper catalogue in the search room. Please note that terraces are not listed in descriptions and so you should search under the main street name.

How the collection can help your research:
The records can help you undertake research into bomb damaged properties in Hull during WWII. They can also aid research into property occupation and post-damage remedial and repair work.
