Applied History programme
This is an undergraduate
module for students in the final year of their History degree at
the University of Hull. It is taught collaboratively by the
Department of History and Hull History Centre. Students undertake
internships at Hull History Centre in order to develop transferable
skills for employment. Students working in the education stream
have developed workshops that they have delivered at KS1 and KS2
levels at local primary schools and at Hull History Centre.
Queen Victoria’s Diamond
This workshop explores Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee
celebrations. It combines activities in history, art, literacy and
numeracy and uses primary sources from the archives held at Hull
History Centre. The lesson is aimed at Year 2 – Year 3 pupils and
there are booklets at three different ability levels.
